Morrison House Hotel
Gay and lesbian guests as well as our employees have always
been very important to the Morrison House and Kimpton Hotels &
Restaurants. Starting in San Francisco in the 1980's, Kimpton
has always recognized the important role the gay and lesbian
community has played in the company. Right from the start, the
hotels were known for their unique environments and the gay and
lesbian community responded very favorably. In addition, we are
very proud that Kimpton has always had a large number of gay
and lesbian employees. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made
in the community and even prouder of the results:
- In both 2007 and 2008 International Gay and Lesbian
Travel Association (IGLTA) conferences, Kimpton won the
PlanetOut Hotel Group of the Year Award.
- In 2008, The Advocate magazine recognized Kimpton as
one of the top ten companies in the United States for
LGBT employees.
- In 2007 and 2008, Kimpton was recognized as one of the
top three hotel groups by the OutTraveler's Readers
Choice Awards.
- In 2007, Kimpton became the first and only hotel group in
which every hotel is a member of IGLTA, and
- Every Kimpton hotel is TAG Approved.
- Community Marketing's 2008 travel survey of 4,000 LGBT
travelers recognized Kimpton in the top three hotel
companies for their outreach efforts to the LGBT
community.
- And of course Kimpton was the first hotel group to achieve
a 100% HRC Corporate Equality Index score back in 2004.
